What is it?

H.I.G.H Value Leadership™

Lead Yourself. Lead Your Team. Lead at a Higher Standard.

H.I.G.H Value Leadership™ is a leadership framework I built after 23 years in the U.S. Navy and years leading teams in high-pressure corporate environments.

It’s simple, but it’s not easy.
It’s powerful, but it’s not fluffy.
And when leaders live it—not just talk about it—teams transform.

H.I.G.H stands for:

Honesty
Integrity
Gratitude/Growth
Humility

These aren’t buzzwords.
They’re standards.
The standards that high-performing teams demand from their leaders.

This is the framework I teach inside every coaching program, workshop, and corporate training event at Legion Leadership.

Why it works!

In the Navy, leadership wasn’t optional.
Neither was clarity.
You either led well, or people got hurt.
There was no in-between.

In corporate America, the stakes look different—but the leadership failures look the same:

  • Poor communication

  • Hidden agendas

  • Burnout

  • Fear-based cultures

  • Leaders who are technically skilled but emotionally absent

  • Team members walking on eggshells

H.I.G.H Value Leadership fixes the root issues—not the symptoms.

It builds leaders who people trust, follow, and perform for.

H — Honesty

The courage to tell the truth — first to yourself, then to your team.

Honesty isn’t about being blunt or brutal.
It’s about being accurate.

Honest leaders:

  • Know their strengths and weaknesses

  • Communicate clearly

  • Address problems early

  • Give feedback that’s real, not watered down

  • Admit mistakes without excuse-making

Honesty builds clarity, and clarity builds momentum.
Every high-performing team I’ve led—Navy or corporate—started with honest conversations.

I — Integrity

Do what’s right, even when nobody’s watching.

Integrity is your internal compass.
It’s the quiet standard that guides how you act when leadership isn’t convenient.

Leaders with integrity:

  • Align actions with values

  • Make decisions based on principles, not pressure

  • Keep promises

  • Own outcomes—good and bad

  • Set the tone for the entire culture

Integrity attracts trust.
Trust attracts talent.
Talent builds teams.

G — Gratitude + Growth

Gratitude grounds you. Growth expands you.

High achievers often carry two hidden weights:

  1. They feel their success isn’t enough.

  2. They believe slowing down means falling behind.

G in this framework is a double meaning:

  • Gratitude keeps you present and centered.

  • Growth keeps you sharp, hungry, and evolving.

Leaders who balance gratitude and growth:

  • Build stronger relationships

  • Make better decisions

  • Avoid burnout

  • Create teams that stay engaged and inspired

Gratitude fuels the heart.
Growth fuels the mission.

H — Humility

Humility is strength under control.

Humility isn’t weakness.
It’s the highest form of leadership maturity.

Humble leaders:

  • Stay teachable

  • Listen to understand

  • Don’t need to be the smartest in the room

  • Surround themselves with people who challenge them

  • Lead with service, not ego

In the Navy, the most respected leaders I ever served with had one thing in common:
They never stopped learning.
They never acted like they “arrived.”

Humility multiplies influence.
Pride isolates.

Where You’ll Use the Framework

How We Implement H.I.G.H Together

Inside my coaching and training programs, leaders learn how to:

  1. Identify blind spots in honesty

  2. Build standards around integrity

  3. Develop a gratitude and growth rhythm

  4. Practice humility that increases influence, not weakness

  5. Communicate in ways that move people, not confuse them

  6. Build habits that create consistent leadership

  7. Lead teams without chaos, burnout, or fear

You don’t need more motivation.
You need a system.
This is that system.

Is this for You?

You’ll benefit the most if you are:

  • A high achiever who feels stuck

  • A leader who wants more influence, not more chaos

  • A professional who wants to grow without burning out

  • A manager who wants a stronger, more aligned team

  • A corporate leader seeking a shared leadership language

  • Someone tired of surviving and ready to lead with purpose

If you're ready for clarity, confidence, and growth—H.I.G.H is built for you.
